Abstract Chemistry and Our Lives was a popular science book published by the Kaiming Book Company in the middle of 1930s. This book contained a wide range of materials and substantial contents, and focused on the connection of chemistry, life and production. Based on the publishing background, content system and compilation characteristics, this paper evaluated and analyzed the important role of Chemistry and Our Lives in chemical education and the popularization of chemistry during the Republic of China.
