Abstract In order to multi-dimensionally cultivate students' core competences such as practical and innovative ability, lifelong learning ability and information acquiring ability, taking specific experiments as examples, the application of structural thinking in biochemistry experiment teaching was explored. The practice of teaching proved that the use of structural thinking mode in biochemistry experiments can make the knowledge orderly, gradient and easily expressed, and make the operation of experiments routinely, at the same time, effectively mobilize the students learning initiative. As a result, it is an effective teaching mode to cultivate students' core competences in a multi-dimensional way.
