In view of the problems in the current assessment method of inorganic chemistry curriculum in regional colleges and universities, this work constructs the student development-oriented and stereo assessment mode, which is student-centered, emphasizes process and stresses the educational assessment theory of student development. It is a proper compliment to the final result-based assessment. Practice of the proposed assessment mode increases average scores of inorganic chemistry I and Ⅱ by 12.17% and 13.92%, respectively, highly motivates students' learning interests, and promotes changes of teachers' teaching method and student's study motivation. It closely integrates reform of examination assessment and reform of classroom teaching and raises quality of talent cultivation.

The wave nature of electron is not explained in detail in current structural chemistry textbooks although the nature is an important one for the electrons in atoms and molecules. To reduce the learning difficulty of this concept in the teaching practice, we described the physical character of the wave nature of electron as that one cannot predict its future position when it moves in a microscopic system. Our teaching activity suggested that most students can understand the concept properly. Moreover, we found that the class discussions on the concept could help most students to understand that it is both the particle nature and the wave nature of electrons that collectively lead to the result of electron diffraction.

The advantages and disadvantages of the preparation of cyclohexanone by the sodium hypochlorite oxidation method and sodium dichromate oxidation method were compared in terms of environmental protection and product yield. Gas chromatography-mass spectrometry method was applied to the qualitative and quantitative analysis of cyclohexanone. The results showed that sodium hypochlorite oxidation method was superior to sodium dichromate oxidation in both environmental protection and product yield. It not only helped students to learn how to choose the best method when a kind of compound can be synthesized by multiple ways but also enabled the students to improve experimental ability as well as to have a certain understanding of the material analysis techniques and instruments.

The sulphate determination in drinking water is a major experimental curriculum in physical and chemical hygienic detection. However, the experimental curriculum mainly focused on the standard method validation and instrument operation. The training for quality control of laboratory was neglected. This deficiency led to large error and worse quality control in students' experimental data. To cover this shortage, this work used the analysis method comparison to improve the experiment. The ion chromatography and turbidimetry were compared and evaluated from calibration curve, detection limit, precision and recovery. The results showed that ion chromatography significantly excelled the turbidimetry in the parameters of linearity range, detection limit, precision and recovery. It was the ideal results to serve as the quality control training in student experiment.

In this paper, a simple method based on smart phone photogrammetry was proposed for the measurement of contact angle. A smart phone with an attached close-up lens was used to get the photograph of the liquid drops on the solid surface, then the obtain pictures were measured and the contact angles were calculated. This simple and cheap method could be used to investigate the influence factors of contact angle, such as the surfactant and the hydrophility of the solid surface. By using this method, contact angle related experiments can be introduced in physical chemistry experiments, fine chemical engineering experiments and other courses to improve students' understanding of the concept of contact angles.
