Abstract This paper analyzes the status of metal knowledge in the middle school entrance examination and textbooks. In view of the problems existing in the current unit review teaching, according to the principle of the consistency of teaching, learning and evaluation, the unit review of “metal knowledge” is centered on the “staple” as the main clue in the inquiry activity. By doing so, we can stimulate students’ interest in learning, optimize the student unit’s knowledge structure, develop students’ ability to analyze and solve problems, and improve students’ understanding of the value of the subject.
