This paper analyzes the status of metal knowledge in the middle school entrance examination and textbooks. In view of the problems existing in the current unit review teaching, according to the principle of the consistency of teaching, learning and evaluation, the unit review of “metal knowledge” is centered on the “staple” as the main clue in the inquiry activity. By doing so, we can stimulate students’ interest in learning, optimize the student unit’s knowledge structure, develop students’ ability to analyze and solve problems, and improve students’ understanding of the value of the subject.

The “internet” is utilized in the real-scene course “Rebirth of Sewage” to connect the sewage treatment plant, so that the students in the classroom can see the sewage treatment process. Meanwhile, students, technicians, real-scene teachers and teachers in classroom could interact with each other in real time. Through the practical teaching, experimental simulation, role-playing and other approaches, theoretical knowledge, chemical technology and life practice are integrated to be a system, which could cultivates students’ scientific ethic and rigorous scientific spirit. Therefore, students can understand chemistry and life in practice. An awareness of “environmental protection” among students is formed from the close relationship between the environment and society. The concept of “green chemistry” is transmitted to them and their social responsibilities are enhanced from the real-scene course.

Based on the two-tier diagnostic tests and semi-structured interviews, the ionization balance mental model of the second-year high school students was evaluated. It was found that the students constructed a total of 11 non-scientific mental models, including the balance basis model, the hydrolysis basis model, the conductive basis model, and the keying basis model were constructed in the strong and weak electrolytes. The static model and the constant basis model were constructed in the ionization equilibrium state. The limit myth model and the error analog model were constructed in the movement of ionization equilibrium. The K-Q myth model and the energy impact model were constructed in the ionization equilibrium constant. At the same time, combined with the test questions and interview, the causes of the students’ non-scientific mental models were discussed. Ultimately, the corresponding teaching suggestions were provided for teachers.

Taking student activities as the carrier and using performance evaluation, it is helpful to the formation of students’ core literacy. According to the connotation of “expressive evaluation” and “evidential reasoning and model cognition”, the performance assessment rubric is put forward from four dimensions: obtaining reasoning evidence, evidence-based reasoning, establishing cognitive model and model-based cognition;and the expressive task is designed according to the teaching content of the first lesson of “air”. Taking the teaching of the first lesson of “air” as an example, this paper focuses on the process of teachers based on the performance assessment rubric, observing students’ classroom performance, evaluating students’ accomplishment and adjusting teaching in time.

What is the relationship between problem-solving ability in chemistry inquiry experiment and students’ exploratory experiment experience? This is an important problem, but there is a lack of relevant research. This study divided the students with the same academic level in a demonstration high school in Beijing for the same number of two samples, which was, 96 students who participated in an elective course of Chemical Inquiry Experiment (experienced) and those who did not attend (non-experience). Using self-made scales and test questions, the test results showed that the ability of the experienced students to solve the problem was higher than that without the experience; the two kinds of students had little difference before the problem solving, but in the middle and late period of the problem solving, the average score of the students with experience was obviously higher than that of the non-experienced students; in the process of designing and solving problems, students with experience were significantly better than those without experience in their overall thinking, process regulation, and ability performance. It showed that the chemistry exploration experiment experience played an important role in students’ problem-solving ability. Based on this, this paper put forward corresponding teaching strategies and suggestions from three aspects: school, teachers and students.

The working principle and assembly process of two types of supercapacitors (Electric Double-Layer Capacitor (EDLC) and Faraday Pseudocapacitor) and tested performance via cyclic voltammetry (CV) and galvanostatic charge-discharge (GCD) had been studied. Finally, the differences between the two were summarized by analyzing the cyclic volt-ampere curve, specific capacitance, energy density and power density. The practical results showed that the electrochemical basics and scientific research had been connected successfully, which allowed students to gain additional insight into the concepts and principles of electrochemistry and receive valuable hands-on experiences on clean energy storage devices. Furthermore, students’ green chemistry literacy also had been enhanced in the process of learning.

In high school chemistry, the most commonly used method of testing chloride ion is to drop silver nitrate solution into the solution. If a white precipitate is formed which is insoluble in dilute nitric acid, the presence of chlorine ion in the solution is indicated. However, in the solubility table, silver sulfate is slightly soluble in water, which is questioned: if the presence of sulfate ion in the solution, will the formation of slightly soluble silver sulfate precipitation, thus interfering with the detection of chloride ion? Through experimental verification, when 0.1 mol/L silver nitrate solution is used, the sulfate ion will not interfere.
