Abstract  In order to solve the problem of fine description of pore scale during the synthesis and decomposition of natural gas hydrate, the experimental design of microscopic visual model of natural gas hydrate was carried out. The design of the experimental device starts with visual function, real-time monitoring function, data processing function and critical state judgment function, and carries out the equipment initialization debugging, synthesis and decomposition simulation and gas production efficiency analysis of three levels of experimental content. The experimental results show that students can not only qualitatively describe the process of hydrate synthesis and decomposition in microscopic pores, but also quantitatively calculate the gas production efficiency of hydrate at different moments, which lays a foundation for students to understand the law of hydrate formation and depressurization decomposition. The experiment deepens students' understanding of the professional knowledge of offshore oil and gas engineering and improves their practical ability to solve complex engineering problems.
