Since the outbreak of COVID-19, how to identify the infection accurately and quickly is the key for prevention and control. Herein the authors systematically introduce various technologies that have been used in the clinical detection of 2019-nCoV, and also precisely explain the involved biochemical principles. This article will help the public to understand the procedure of 2019-nCoV detection, which is important to cooperate with medical workers and to enhance the confidence in defeating COVID-19.

From the middle of the 20th century to the 21st century, the cases of paraquat poisoning draw people's attention gradually. The development course of paraquat from prosperity to decline reflects the tortuous road of pesticide development indirectly. In this paper, the development history, synthesis method, action mechanism, application and the banning process of paraquat are introduced comprehensively, which hope people evaluate the advantages and disadvantages of paraquat rationally in order to achieve green development of pesticides.

The polymer materials and engineering major of Ludong University takes the promotion of new engineering disciplines construction as an opportunity and engineering education certification as a starting point, constantly strengthen the major connotation construction and process management. The major has established an output oriented evaluation mechanism for the achievement of curriculum objectives and satisfactory result have been achieved. The present study describes the establishment and implementation method of the evaluation mechanism for the achievement of curriculum objectives, and takes the evaluation of achievement of curriculum objectives of polymer chemistry as an example for the interpretation. The research has certain reference significance for the evaluation of achievement of curriculum objectives of polymer materials and engineering and other majors.

The fine chemical and synthetic chemistry curriculum reform was carried out in engineering education accreditation concept under the guidance of OBE concept. New teaching framework and evaluation feedback structure were established with significant systematic characteristics of engineering education and self-innovation ability. “3 module 6 process7 ability” reform mechanism was introduced and applied in the teaching process. The implementation effect showed that the new curriculum reform measures significantly promoted the cultivation of students' engineering abilities. The degree of students' goal achievement has been steadily improved with the increase of implementation years, and promoted the cultivation of light chemical engineering talents under the concept of engineering certification.

This article discusses the application of questions-oriented teaching mode in organic synthesis course. Taking the typical questions that often appear in thin-layer chromatography analysis as a start, using the theory as the guidance, and combining a heuristic process with discussion and other teaching methods, the classroom teaching effect is improved. Practice has shown that adopting questions-oriented teaching mode and setting up gradual in-depth questions in teaching can stimulate students' interests and enthusiasm, and provide certain ideas for the course design of organic synthesis.

In the experiment of measuring drying characteristic curve, the drying curve (X-t) is drawn according to the change of moisture content (X) of material with time (t). The drying rate (U) is obtained by derivation, which is then plotted vs. X to get the drying rate curve (U-X). Because there are a great number of X-t data points, the U-X curve fluctuates wildly. It is important to select the appropriate processing method to get the accurate U-X curve for studying the drying process. In this paper, several kinds of processing methods of the drying curve are compared. Results show that when the interval is too narrow, the difference quotient method may bring great fluctuation. Although increasing the interval can reduce the fluctuation, some important details in the U-X curve maybelost when it is too wide. In contrast,derivation aftersmoothing the X-t curve can significantly reduce the fluctuation of the U-X curve and well keep its trend. Another better processing method is the piecewise fitting, by which the U-X curve can be clearly divided into different stages, and thereby more accurate key data can be acquired. In addition to linear fitting, hyperbolic model can also be used to fit the U-X curve in the deceleration stage, both of which have good fitting effect.

The photocatalyst of BiOCl with high catalytic activity was synthesized by one-pot hydrothermal procedure with bismuth nitrate and potassium chloride. Different characterizations were carried out to identify the physiochemical properties of BiOCl, such as X-ray diffractions (XRD), scanning electron microscope (SEM) and UV-Vis spectra. The catalytic activity was tested by photocatalysis with 300W Xenon lamp as light source. The experiment involves one-pot hydrothermal synthesis procedure, characterizations and photocatalysis degradation processes of Rhodamine B, which combined the theoretical content together. The college students could better learn the synthesis principle of nanoscale materials and the catalytic degradation process as well as the structure characterization. Through this experiment, the study ability of students could be trained and familiar with the operation of instruments. Moreover, this experiment can motivate the interests of students in scientific research and improve their innovative abilities.

In this paper, a new titration experiment was designed to detect reducing sugar content in persimmon frostbased on the redox reaction between Fehling's solution and reducing sugar. There comes lots of creation and progress in the Fehling's solution composition, the titration method and the titration result calculation method. And the effects of pH, temperature and amount of Fehling's solution on the color reaction were discussed in details. Finally, the results obtained by the proposed assay were compared with those by iodimetry with satisfactory results. This experiment helps to enhance students' awareness of food safety and improve their ability to analyze multivariable problems. It can replace iodometry and become a new experiment in analytical chemistry experiment.

“Determination of the stability constant of iron(Ⅲ)-sulfosalicylic acid coordination compound” is an important inorganic experiment for the chemistry and chemical engineering college students. Digital colorimetric method was developed recent years by using smart phone and APP to accomplish data analysis of chemical reactions which accompany with color changes. In this work, digital colorimetric method was tried to apply to the aforementioned experiment. The condition control of the data collection, namely, the photograph process of the digital colorimetric method was investigated firstly. Then results obtained was compared with the conventional absorption spectrophotometry. Based on that, features of the application of digital colorimetric method were discussed. It was showed that digital colorimetric method had relatively low resolution to slight color difference and so should be applied to processes with relatively obvious color change.

This paper expounds the thoughts of implementation of curriculum ideological and political during chemistry teaching theory course, and describes the basic stage and value implication of backwardinstructionaldesign. Backward instructional design, which starts from the expected goal, is an effective measure to promote the curriculum ideology and politics education.Taking “present a teaching plan” for example,this paper explores the three-stage planning of backward instructional design under the curriculum ideological and political education,which contains“identify desired results—determine acceptable evidence—plan learning experiences and instructions”,what's more,carries out teaching process design and teaching reflection.The selection of teaching content, setting of teaching activities and teaching evaluation in backward instructional design all point to the teaching goal, which is conducive to the development of curriculum education function.

Based on the practical results of students in enterprises, the comprehensive innovative experiment was explored and optimized based on the quality control of unknown chemical impurities in amino acid bulk drug. Students were encouraged to detect unknown chemical impurities in L-isoleucine by gas chromatography-mass spectrometry combined with headspace solid phase microextraction (HS-SPME-GC-MS). The qualitative and quantitative chromatographic methods were developed to determine impurity by using 2-methylbutyraldehyde as standard substance. The results show that none exceeded the national limit standard. Though the experiment,students could not only master the basic theory and method of quality control in analytical chemistry, obtain the experimental principle and operation of HS-SPME-GC-MS, understand green chemical pretreatment methods, be familiar with qualitative and data analysis software, but also stir up their subjective interests, improve the ability to comprehensively analyze and solve practical problems, and enhance the ability of scientific research innovation and teamwork.

Medicinal chemistry is a core course of pharmaceutical major, and possesses abundant ideological and political resources. In this paper, the course of medicinal chemistry was taken as an example, the teaching main line of ideological and political of medicinal chemistry was constructed for seven segments, including “setting goal, disassembling contents, researching spot, digging elements, implicit integration, exploring effects, and making evaluation”. Penicillin in medicinal chemistry course was taken as a case study to show the organic integration of ideological and political content into the whole process of curriculum teaching, so as to provide a new mode for the ideological and political education of other college science and engineering curriculums.

In order to solve the problem of fine description of pore scale during the synthesis and decomposition of natural gas hydrate, the experimental design of microscopic visual model of natural gas hydrate was carried out. The design of the experimental device starts with visual function, real-time monitoring function, data processing function and critical state judgment function, and carries out the equipment initialization debugging, synthesis and decomposition simulation and gas production efficiency analysis of three levels of experimental content. The experimental results show that students can not only qualitatively describe the process of hydrate synthesis and decomposition in microscopic pores, but also quantitatively calculate the gas production efficiency of hydrate at different moments, which lays a foundation for students to understand the law of hydrate formation and depressurization decomposition. The experiment deepens students' understanding of the professional knowledge of offshore oil and gas engineering and improves their practical ability to solve complex engineering problems.

Academic conferences and peer review are important means for the academic community to conduct academic communication and mutual evaluation. Taking the application in the postgraduate course of nanochemistry as an example, the methods of quasi-academic conference and peer review in the teaching implementation process (including the basic idea of the implementation, the basic schedule of implementation and the knowledge preparation for implementation), teaching implementation requirements and implementation effects were analyzed. The “academic meeting+peer review” approach greatly increases the sense of ritual of the seminar, fully mobilizes the students' potential and enthusiasm for participation, enhances the initiative of learning, and achieves a better learning effect.

For compensating the shortage of traditional analytical chemistry experiment teaching, the construction and application of virtual simulation online teaching project of analytical chemistry experiment was introduced. After two years' teaching practice, a teaching method combining virtual simulation experiment and real experiment can effectively improve the situation in traditional analytical chemistry experiment teaching, such as poor preview, large reagent liquid waste, frequent safety incidents, etc. Meanwhile, the systematic evaluation, analysis and statistics function provide an effective means for teachers to carry out targeted guidance and intensive training for the weak master of knowledge points in the real experiment teaching. The virtual simulation experiment system introduced in this paper provides an useful reference for the popularization and application of virtual simulation technology in the field of analytical chemistry experiment teaching.

The accuracy of atomic weight concept and the development of measurement technology have been one of the concerns of chemistry and physics. The definition of atomic weight, the determination of standard atomic value and the basis for its determination are systematically described in this paper. Three important atomic weight determination techniques, namely chemical method, mass spectrometry and calibration mass spectrometry, are described in detail. This paper analyzes the driving force of the development of measurement technology and points out the influence of this process on the revision of international system of units (SI) and chemistry education. The contribution of Chinese scientists to the determination of atomic weight in the world is emphasized.
