Abstract The method of problem-based learning plays positive role in improving students’ initiative,in which the solution of problem is similar to the realization of purpose in experimental teaching and the driving process is closely related to the implementation of experimental procedures. In this teaching case, taking determination of drug contaminant concentration in marine water as a real situation and determination of acetaminophen as a scientific problem, the method of problem-based learning was adopted to conduct teaching practice in three sections through posing, analyzing and solving problems,so as to provide replicable and operable reference of problem-based learning for other science and technology courses.
