Abstract Exploring intelligent chemistry experiments during undergraduate studies is beneficial for chemistry majors to consolidate their achievements in digital education,to enhance their learning interests and information capability. Here,a classical acid-base titration experiment(methyl orange as an indicator)has been selected because of its popularity and early appearance in universities.By building an intelligent titration device, and developing color recognition and automatic titration control programs, the extracted digital color features are used to drive the automatic start and stop of the stepper motor, achieving intelligent control of the two-stage titration rate from fast to slow and endpoint judgment. The parallel titration results indicate that deviation of the intelligent titration can be controlled within 0.2%,comparable to skilled manual titration. The experimental equipment, reagents, and information technology requirements are low, making it suitable for popularization and promotion as an introductory project for intelligent chemistry experiments.
