Design and Practice of Comprehensive Experiment on Carbon Quantum Dots Based on Virtual-Real Integration

Abstract In response to the challenges in the experimental teaching of carbon quantum dots synthesis,including substantial time consumption and a tenuous grasp of the microscopic mechanisms,a comprehensive teaching system integrating virtual simulation and entity experiment has been developed.Guided by outcomes-based education(OBE) and constructivism theory,a knowledge chain of“synthesis-regulation-application”is designed,and a closed-loop process of“theory-virtual-practice-application”forms through the teaching path of“virtual first,then real and complementary virtual-real”.The virtual module uses the 3D dynamic model and the energy level transition animation to visualize the microscopic formation mechanism,embeds the parameter optimization simulation process,introduces the parameter overrun warning and safe operation simulation to reduce the experimental risk.Conversely,the entity module centers on standardizing experimental operations,implementing detection techniques,exploring practical applications,and strengthening the students’ practical skills through the integration of data analysis and extended tasks.The results of the teaching implementation demonstrate a notable improvement in the experimental efficiency.Specifically,the experimental duration has been reduced by 56%,and the associated costs have been decreased by 75%.Students have exhibited a deeper comprehension of the underlying mechanisms and a stronger awareness of safety.The majority of students have successfully mastered the requisite knowledge and skills,with a subset demonstrating innovative thinking.The system realizes the deep integration of cutting-edge technology and teaching,providing a paradigm for the“three-high and three-difficult”experimental teaching reform,and exploring an innovative path of virtual-real integration for the training of new engineering talents.
