Innovative Comprehensive Experimental Design and Teaching Practice Based on Organophosphorus Chemistry: Synthesis and Application of Benzodiazepine Phosphine Oxide Flame Retardants

Abstract In response to the gap between undergraduate organic chemistry experimental teaching programs and the rapid advancements in organic phosphorus chemistry,this study innovatively developed a“theory-synthesis-characterization-application”four-dimensional integrated experimental teaching model grounded in organic phosphorus chemistry.A new comprehensive experimental project titled“Synthesis and Application of Benzodiazepine Phosphine Oxide Flame Retardants”was independently designed,integrating fundamental organic phosphorus chemistry theory,green synthesis techniques,modern characterization methods,and practical fire safety applications.The reagents used are cost-effective and readily accessible,the procedures are safe and straightforward,the knowledge integration is extensive,and the content is highly adaptable for further exploration.This experiment not only deepens students’ understanding of organic phosphorus chemistry but also encourages them to propose innovative solutions to practical problems,thereby enhancing their ability to connect theoretical knowledge with real-world applications.The experiment has been successfully implemented in one cycle of undergraduate laboratory teaching,guiding students to secure one award in provincial-level or higher academic competitions.Furthermore,the diverse teaching methodologies employed in this project hold significant potential for broader application in other educational institutions.
