Construction and Practice of Integrating Online Empowerment of Safety Literacy into Chemistry Course Teaching Mode

Abstract The interdisciplinary integration of safety while teaching chemistry courses can effectively improve the safety ability of students and the future safety production level of the chemical industry.The integration teaching mode of safety literacy into chemistry course is established in this study.The online “safety chain” of accident case display,consequence analysis,probability exploration and countermeasure design is organically integrated into the online and offline “chemistry chain” of chemistry course preview,chemical substance study,reaction condition research and chemistry homework practice,forming a“double-chain four-level”progressive integration teaching design of safety awareness stimulation,internalization of safety responsibility,improvement of safety skills and output of safety culture.The effect of “implicit” safety literacy improvement is observed and evaluated in a“three-stage”manner,covering the entire “explicit” assessment process of chemical professional knowledge from pre-class exploration,in-class practice,to after-class homework.The application results showed that the integration teaching mode had effectively enhanced the safety literacy of students in the learning of polymerization knowledge of “Polymer Chemistry”,the proportion of excellent post-class assignments of which had increased by 16%.The process of teacher design,teacher-student discussion,and student practice has promoted safety culture dissemination in the chemistry industry and the continuous improvement of the integration teaching mode of safety literacy into chemistry courses.
