Abstract In response to the issues such as insufficient integration of medicine in the basic chemistry curriculum for medical schools, abstract and difficult-to-understand theories, and weak student motivation,a“medical situation-driven”teaching mode has been developed. This mode leverages Lingnan regional culture, typical clinical diseases,century-old university historical resources, medical knowledge of life processes, and clinical medication cases as carriers to concretize abstract chemical principles into perceivable medical phenomena. This approach effectively stimulates students’ learning interests and professional identity, significantly enhancing their ability to analyze and transfer chemical knowledge in medical contexts.Teaching practice demonstrates that situation teaching not only optimizes course effectiveness and quality and promotes the restructuring of course content but also fosters interdisciplinary integration of medical and basic sciences.Furthermore,it naturally incorporates ideological and political elements, cultivating students’ scientific thinking, cultural confidence, inheritance of traditional Chinese medicine culture, and a sense of professional mission. This achieves a deep integration of value shaping and ability development. This curriculum reform represents an important practice in cultivating interdisciplinary medical talents and advancing medical education reform.
