This paper introduces the structural types and photoemission of liquid crystal,the functional mechanism of polarizer,including the similarities and differences of twisted nematic LCD,super twisted nematic LCD and thin film transistor LCD.Several organic materials for the abovementioned liquid crystal displays are listed.The current situation and developmental trends of LCD industry are reviewed.

This paper introduces the reaction principle of OsO₄catalyzing dihydroxylation of asym alkene,and the catalytic cycle of dihydroxylation of alkene when N-methylmorpholine-N-oxide(NMO)and K₃[Fe(CN)₆] as oxidant.In addition,this paper introduces the mechanism of stereoselectivity of this cata-lytic reaction and its investigation development,and the selection of chiral ligand in catalytic system.
