Some Chemical Pollutants and Occupational Diseases

YANG Mingsheng, LU Xiaoping
Chinese Journal of Chemical Education. 2004, 25 (3): 1-3,37.
Full Text: PDF (217KB) ( 59 )
Show Abstract ( 81 )
The law of prophylaxis and treatment for occupational diseases in the People s Republic of China, carried out from May 1,2002, points out that the main cause of occupational diseases is the pollution caused by the poisonous and harmful chemicals. This article introduces the intrance ways of the common pollutants, the clinical symptom of the diseases and their cure and treatment.

Coordination Chemistry of Heme with Nitric Oxide, Carbon Monoxide and Their Physiological Functions

ZHAO Huiqing, WANG Xianyang
Chinese Journal of Chemical Education. 2004, 25 (3): 4-6.
Full Text: PDF (181KB) ( 474 )
Show Abstract ( 110 )
Recently, nitric oxide and carbon monoxide were found to play important roles in many physiological processes. The interaction of NO and CO with the hemoglobin is thought to be the key factor for the unique bio-functions of these small molecules. In this paper, the coordination chemistry of heme and hematosin with NO, CO, O2 as well as the coordination-induced trans-effect of heme are reviewed. The correlation of physiological functions and the coordination chemistry properties are also introduced.

The Application of Beckmann Rearrangement Reaction in Organic Synthesis

Full Text: PDF (142KB) ( 155 )
Show Abstract ( 78 )
In addition to discussing the application and reaction mechanism of Beckmann rearrangement reaction in organic synthesis, the structure of oxime, the choices of catalysts and solvents having great effects on the yield and the ratio of amide isomers were also reviewed.

Making Great Effort to Acquire, Study and Practise “All-around Chemistry Education Theory”——In the Memory of the Fifth Anniversary of the Passion away of Professor Dai Anbang

WU Junming, LIANG Kun

The Theory of Comprehensive Chemical Education, condensing the brightness and painstaking effort of Chinese chemistry educators,is a kind of theory of Chinese characteristic, subject feature and era impression. This article deals with the contribution of Professor Dai to this theory. Besides, it compiles some discussion of Chinese chemistry education to introduce the content of this theory. As far as the author concerned, to have a close acquirement, study and practice on the Theory of Comprehensive Chemistry Education is necessary to better the chemistry education quality and develop the chemistry education. Admittedly, this theory needs further perfection and we have much to do about it. What we need to do nowadays is to realize that it is our mission to build up a new outlook of chemistry education on the basis of social necessity and function of chemical education, to have a new concept of our chemistry foundation based on the students.development, to develop a new student-oriented methodo-logy.

Show Abstract ( 74 )
People have focused their attention on biliingual teaching primarly owing to the requirement of quality education and the trend of internationalization of education. However, the practice of bilingual teaching carried out not so well in different areas because of lack of bilingual teachers in different disciplines. In the last two years, we make a try to give students bilingual training whose major is chemical education. We achieved the goals as expected in the aspects: curriculum, training contents, and practice approach.
