With the acceleration of urbanization and the deepening degree of industrialization in China, the problem of water environment protection is becoming increasingly prominent. Real-time water quality monitoring is one of the important preconditions of water quality management. In the view of the development of real-time water quality monitoring, we introduce and compare a variety of optical sensing methods, and mainly focus on the emerging quantum dot micro-spectral sensing technology. Quantum dot spectrometer is a miniaturized reconstructive spectrometer based on colloidal quantum dot materials, with the advantages of low cost, excellent performance and great development potential and so on. It has been practically applied in real-time monitoring of water environment. Finally, the future development direction of real-time water quality monitoring technology is summarized and prospected.

Based on the first-hand experiences of teaching international English course of process intensification for undergraduates, we have summarized the characteristic practice in the design of the courses and the innovation of online-and-offline blended teaching mode, by integrating the faculty of chemical engineering at Beijing University of chemical technology and the faculty of short-term foreign experts. Faculty of internal teachers and short-term foreign experts to carry out the construction. In view of the common problems of general education in the universities, such as narrow knowledge of course, low enthusiasm of students, lack of sufficient qualified teachers and dull classroom language, we improve the teaching from three aspects including curriculum content design, teaching mode innovation and ideological education. In an all English teaching environment, the concept and principle of chemical process reinforcement are closely connected with daily life through simple language, and the characteristics of chemical engineering discipline with strong practicability and wide application are displayed. The course can not only enhance students’ enthusiasm for professional learning, but also promote students’ ability to understand professional English, oral expression and communication. It provides a reference for the construction of chemical based general education courses and the training of students with international vision and innovative consciousness to become high qualified and combinational talents.

Under the goal of carbon peak and carbon neutralization, our country has put forward higher requirements for separation membranes and membrane processes with high-performance. Thus, there is an urgent need to cultivate diversified and innovative talents that meet the “new engineering construction”. In response to the country’s demand for the cultivation of innovative and practical compound talents in the field of membrane technology, we explored the teaching reform for the undergraduate course of “membrane science and technology”, forming an integrated teaching pattern of “teaching, learning, and research” and a teaching method of “elaboration, enlightenment and exploration, combining online and offline”. The teaching content closely follows the technological frontier of membrane technology, and looks forward to future development trends and application requirements. This teaching reform can not only exercise students’ independent learning ability and innovation ability, but also allow students to form the thinking habit of paying active attention on the advanced technical achievement.

This paper briefly introduces the idea, implementation scheme and curriculum objectives of constructing the ideological and political education system of inorganic chemistry based on OBE theory. It focuses on the teaching cases of the organic integration of ideological and political materials and professional knowledge in the bridge-in and participatory learning. Teaching practice shows that integrating knowledge transfer, ability improvement and value guidance into a unified development in teaching can promote students’ discussion, reflection and experience, and then promote students to understand and identify with the value objectives of the curriculum and internalize them into their own value consciousness and practical action.

Combined with the current teaching status and the requirements based on the students’ survey, we are deep in thought of the importance and the related problems of designing exercise courses in the teaching process. From different aspects, including teacher quality, class size, teaching method, exercise construction, exercise interpretation and examination, we put forward effective strategies to improve the efficiency of the exercise courses. We further discuss the feasibility of online and offline blended teaching in the teaching modes of exercise courses, and provide a teaching case for reference, aiming to promote the teaching and learning of professional courses in college chemistry.

Based on the understanding of “focusing on the quality of courses is the key measure of talent training”, we think that if the teaching of “elements in ds-block” can embody the internal integration of knowledge, ability ang quality, the advantage, innovation and challenge of teaching can be achieved. Regarding the general problem of inflexible and old style in teaching, which cannot reflect the progress of research, we should pursue the goal of the internal integration of knowledge, ability and quality, pay attention on the overall of the fundamental knowledge, recombination of the content, intersect of different disciplines in order to improve the ability of creative thinking of students and enhance the teaching efficiency.

Facing the major needs of the national spacecraft for lunar exploration, the scientific research project “research on the dustproof performance of bionic lotus leaf superhydrophobic micro-nano structure” was transformed into an undergraduate teaching experiment. The AZO film was prepared by the atomic layer deposition route, combined with the hydrothermal method to prepare the secondary AZO micro-nano structure. The experimental aerospace background has strong characteristics, involving the integration of multiple disciplines such as chemistry, materials, and aerospace. Students receive basic scientific research training from film preparation, characterization technology, and the discussing process of dust removal and crystal growth mechanism, and resonate at the same frequency as the lunar exploration project, which is beneficial to students to enhance their practical ability, subtly perceive the pulse of society, and guide students to engage in aerospace industry.

Based on the efficient and rational use of information-based teaching resources, the experimental teaching mode of inorganic chemical elements properties was reconstructed. This paper introduced the use of micro video, teaching content of combining basic experiment and independent experiment, multi way assessment and evaluation method. The practical effect of the reconstruction of the experimental teaching mode of element properties was explored. Teaching evaluation showed that the current teaching situation was improved and the new teaching mode was conducive to promotion the teaching effect.

This paper has come up with a new thinking that the safety management of laboratory and training rooms of chemistry and chemical engineering in colleges and universities can learn from the mature experience of double prevention mechanism implemented by production management units. The traditional empirical safety management method of hidden danger investigation and post accident disposal in the laboratory and training rooms of colleges and universities is upgraded to the process safety management mode based on risk management. In this way the safety management is brought forward to the risk management stage so as to defense-in-depth for preventing accident. This paper constructs the implementation path map and specific operation steps of the dual prevention mechanism suitable for the colleges and universities and puts forward some guiding suggestions based on work experience.

In this paper, a physical chemistry experiment is introduced for senior undergraduates based on computational chemistry. In this experiment, the physical and chemical adsorption of H2 on Ni surface and the effects of coverage and catalyst on H2 dissociation were studied by quantum chemistry method using Materials Studio software. Through this experiment, students can preliminarily master the ideas and methods of obtaining reaction activation energy and searching the transition state by computational chemistry tools, which is helpful for students to understand the adsorption phenomenon of gas on the solid surface at the atomic level.

Interdisciplinary thinking is a way of thinking in which individuals seek solutions to problems based on the internal connection between disciplinary knowledge when solving complex problems. Based on the SOLO classification theory and the “integrated slope” of STEM education, an interdisciplinary thinking evaluation framework is constructed. The NVivo12 analysis software is used to code and count the task decomposition data of the STEAM projects of 93 chemistry students according to the “STEAM pyramid structure framework”. Based on these data, the chemistry interdisciplinary thinking development level of normal students were analyzed. It is expected to provide a reference for further strategies to seek high-level development of interdisciplinary thinking among chemistry normal students.

The exploration and practice of curriculum ideological and political education have been carried out in pharmaceutical analysis for higher vocational colleges. First of all, based on reconstructed project and task-type course teaching content, the general goal and main line of curriculum ideological and political education are determined. And then, this paper sorted out ideological and political elements, established the resource database of curriculum ideological and political, and innovated the ideological and political teaching methods. The curriculum ideological and political teaching and knowledge and skills teaching are unified in various forms, lively and interesting. Finally, by establishing the assessment mechanism of ideological and political literacy, the effect of ideological and political education can be evaluated and measured. Through the above exploration and practice, we can give full play to the moral educational function of professional courses, and achieved good teaching effects.

Aerobic and anaerobic metabolism are two ways for organisms to utilize organics, and the former has been the core of organic metabolism in the biochemistry course. Compared with aerobic metabolism, anaerobic digestion possesses many chemical reactions, intermediates and complex pathways and plays an important role in maintaining ecological balance and sustainable development of human society. Such an important pathway has not been involved in biochemistry textbooks and teaching contents previously, causing an urgent need for teaching reform. In order to supplement another pathway of metabolism, the author systematically introduced the main reactions in anaerobic digestion, redox processes with electron transfer, and thermodynamic changes using the Bloom’s educational goal classification theory, which enriched the knowledge of metabolic network for students and upgraded the teaching system of biochemistry courses. The teaching contents and experiences could provide a valuable reference for the university teachers to carry out the teaching reform of related courses.

Safety and environmental protection for pharmaceutical process is a compulsory core course for undergraduates majoring in pharmaceutical engineering. However, its curriculum system was not perfect. Based on the concepts of OBE and EHS, the curriculum has been constructed and improved from the aspects of curriculum objectives, curriculum contents, ideological and political teaching, textbook, teaching methods, curriculum exam and assessment methods. Some innovative achievements and experiences were achieved. The curriculum objectives have been made. The curriculum contents have been set innovatively. The ideological and political teaching has been carried out. The textbook has been edited. The appropriate teaching methods have been put forward. The curriculum exam and assessment methods have been established. The useful reference can be provided for the teaching and construction of similar courses in other colleges and universities in China.

This paper introduces the teaching practice of association state in Chinese medicine pharmaceutical chemistry course. In order to meet the training requirements of first-class major in Chinese pharmaceutical manufacturing, glycyrrhizic acid was selected as experimental subject to achieve the instructional objectives of association state concept, physical-chemical properties and formation mechanism by inquiry experimental teaching mode, which included the process of problem discovery, inspiration and guidance, scheme design, exploration practice and effect feedback. Meanwhile, the power of professional knowledge and scientific essence were inspired to cultivate scientific thinking of students and spirit of scientific research with the progressive teaching mode. And then, the innovation ability of students was enhanced by inquiry experimental teaching, which improved the quality of experimental teaching correspondingly.

In order to solve the problems existing in the current evaluation of the internship of the master of chemistry education, based on the concept of OBE (Outcome Based Education), focusing on “what you learned”, “what you can do” and the professional abilities you should have in five years after graduation. We developed an internship evaluation scale with 14 secondary indicators and 65 tertiary indicators, starting from the four dimensions of “performance in the internship stage”, “teaching work”, “work of the head teacher” and “teaching research work”, and established the “monitoring-adjustment-improvement” link corresponding to “internship preparation stage, internship implementation stage and internship conclusion stage” to ensure the internship quality. Finally, a closed-loop educational internship evaluation system of “four dimensions and three levels” is formed, which standardize the evaluation method of the educational internship of the master of chemistry education and improve the quality of the educational internship.

Based on the Boltzmann statistics, this paper briefly summarizes the statistical thermodynamics under the independent particle approximation of the non-localized system, and analyzes some differences and connections between statistical thermodynamic methods and conventional thermodynamic methods by using some examples. It helps students to deepen their understanding of some important thermodynamic concepts (such as heat capacity, Gibbs free energy, enthalpy and chemical potential) from the perspective of statistical thermodynamics, and establish microscopic physical images, which is beneficial for students to better learn the two parts of thermodynamic knowledge and flexibly apply them to the solution of chemical problems.

Based on the teaching design for the elements on the famous chemists in the chemistry history, it is an important and indispensable ideological and political teaching step in the chemistry curriculum. However, due to the difference between Chinese and foreign language, there are some special cases in the translation about name, such as the same abbreviation of personal name, which is easy to cause confusion and affect to accurately teach and study. In this paper, taking the chemists of “Fischer” with the same abbreviation name as an example, we summarize the nine chemists in the chemistry history, who have made important contributions to the development of chemistry, and explore their lives, academic achievements and contributions, and clarify the characteristic of different chemists, and then provide the useful history resource to correctly apply for curriculum education.
