Abstract  This paper tried to construct the teaching design model based on scientific argument. Taking the teaching of atomic structure as an example, and considering 3 key elements (claim, reasoning and evidence) of scientific argument, this paper used this model to allow students to experience the process of reading, looking for evidence, reasoning and finally proving the rationality of the hypothesis, and so on, in order to develop students' abilities of scientific reasoning and understanding of scientific development.
