Abstract  Under the pattern of the great ideological and political education, the improvement of the information-based “course ideology and politics” teaching system would be promoted by the development of modern information technology, which makes the resources of the ideological and political education more colorful, the manifestation forms more flexible and diverse, the update and application more rapid and convenient, and provides an important guarantee for the smooth development of teaching activities. Taking the “course ideology and politics” construction of general chemistry as an example in this paper, we elaborate how to utilize the advanced information and new media technology to fully develop the ideological and political education resources contained in general chemistry and deeply integrate them with the teaching of professional knowledge, so as to provide a better service to the fundamental task of “cultivating people by virtue”.
