Abstract This article explored the reform and practice of the small thematic teaching method in the course of organic chemistry, and discussed basic conceptions and advantages, the design of the special theme, and the practice and effects of this teaching method. Moreover, gave many new themes and analyzed over thirty themes. The results indicated that the small thematic teaching method was feasible, adjustable and beneficial to develop the comprehensive capacity and quality of students.
