Abstract This paper carried out research-oriented teaching method in the teaching of college chemistry through designing different teaching processes based on the contents, such as strengthening students' understanding of scientific method through examples, setting contexts for problems to arouse students' initiative learning, paying attention to the promoting effect of experimental teaching to theory teaching, strengthening students' understanding of practicability of chemistry in life and production, and so on. These methods could help students to think and study actively in chemistry classroom and cultivate students' ability to study and solve problems independently.
