Show Abstract ( 193 )
This paper designed an inquiry activity, which led the students to learn the modification of calixarene using knowledge of common functional groups of organics, and explore a kind of pH-switchable bis-calix [4] arene polymer capsule with the aid of hydrogen bond. The aim of this activity was to help senior high school students understand better about the idea of "structures determine properties", deepen students' understanding of properties of compound according to characteristics of functional groups, and make students realize how to design molecules based on application requirements.

Through questionnaires and interviews, this paper investigated the conceptions and behaviors of senior high school chemistry teachers to chemical experiment teaching, and the status of teaching resources in Yangpu district of Shanghai. The results indicated that the teachers well recognized the role of experiment in chemistry teaching, but they didn't strengthen corresponding teaching behaviors in teaching practice; the experimental resources of the schools were unbalanced with some schools lack of experimental resources. This study analyzed the causes of these phenomena, and gave some suggestions on strengthening experiment teaching and improving relevant ability of teachers.
