Combined with teaching practice, reform of teaching contents and teaching material system of organic synthesis was researched through methods of system analysis, comparison, deduction and induction. Structural system of organic compounds including basic skeleton of molecular, functional groups and transformation of stereo configurations was established. This teaching mode cleared the basic task of organic synthesis, inspired the students' learning enthusiasm and improved the teaching effect via long-term teaching practice.

Integration of inside and outside classroom teaching of physical chemistry has been illustrated by some teaching examples, including selection of preview homework and English reading materials,deep discussion of a chemical problem of college entrance examination from the viewpoint of physical chemistry, and arrangement of course papers. Teaching practice indicated that previewing material could improve teaching efficiency, coaching course could enhance teaching achievement, and course paper could expand teaching contents.

Total alkaloids of sophora flavescens were extracted by macromethod and micromethod,and extraction rate of alkaloids, reagent consumption and extracting time were compared. The results showed that the yield of alkaloids by micromethod was 0.565%, slightly higher than the yield of macromethod. Consumption of sophora flavescens and reagents including ethanol, chloroform and aqueous ammonia by micromethod was about 10% and 30% of that by macromethod respectively. Macromethod took 29 h to complete the whole assay, whereas micromethod needed only 6.5 h.

The synthesis of target compound 1,4-di(1-carboxymethylene-4-imidazolyl) benzene was taken as an innovative training project for undergraduates, including synthetic route design, structure characterization and properties research of the compound. The results showed that innovative training in scientific research could effectively integrate theoretical knowledge and practical skills of the students, and promote their comprehensive capacity and innovative ability.

Influences of reaction time, amount of oxidant and catalyst on conversion of cyclohexanol were investigated in detail while different green oxidants such as NaClO, H2O2 and K2FeO4,etc. were selected respectively. The results showed that NaClO is an environment-friendly oxidant with short reaction time and easy operation.

The improved preparation method of Fe(OH)3 colloid was reported with the valuable advantages of low toxicity, non-pollution, etc. In this method, the biodegradable chitosan colloid particles whose ZETA potential and particle size distribution could be objectively estimated by Malvin particle analyzer were used instead of Fe(OH)3 colloid particles. Teaching practice verified the feasibility and advantages of this experiment, which are suitable for students major in pharmaceutical and related specialties.

Teaching reform of analytical chemistry experiment includes the reform of teaching methods and the reform of design mode of experiment contents. In the reform of teaching methods, the traditional teaching mode dominated by experimental demonstration led by experiment teachers was transformed into the mode led by theory teachers and experiment teachers together assisted by teaching methods of discussion and multi-media. In the reform of design mode of experiment contents, the traditional design mode dominated by verified experiments aiming at improving the abilities of students in experimental operation was transformed into the mode close to practical application in order to mobilize the enthusiasm and initiative spirit of students, enhance innovative quality of the graduates, activate potentials of students. At the same time, the concepts of conservation and environmental protection were introduced into the design of the experiment to strengthen the concept of green chemistry.

A comprehensive experiment of synthesis and characterization of the crude oil pipeline additive of polyoctadecyl acrylate was introduced. The additive was synthesized through free radical polymerization in solution. The structure of the additive was analyzed by infrared spectroscopy. The effect of additive on the flow ability and wax precipitation property of synthetic waxy oil was measured through rheological test and polarized microscopic observation. This experiment integrated basic contents in the course of additives for the oil and gas storage and transportation such as synthesis, structure characterization and performance evaluation of additives, and favored the improvement of theory teaching quality.

Three programs written by MATLAB mathematical software were used to process data obtained in physical chemistry experiment of "the rate equation of reaction between iodine and acetone". The reaction order could be derived by designed experimental procedure based on isolated algorithm. Results showed that the programs written by MATLAB software could process experimental data of physical chemistry accurately and conveniently. Therefore, the application of MATLAB in physical chemistry experiments could supplement teaching contents and improve teaching effect.

The effect of pressure and temperature on the phase equilibrium of water was analyzed from the visual angle of thermodynamic principle.
