Analysis and Discussion on Related Problems of Surface Tension
As an important concept of surface phenomenon, surface tension of liquid should be explained in a more detail and comprehensive way than in current physical chemical textbooks. Therefore, by means of many three-dimensional graphs, the questions about the nature, direction, and phase interface exerting force of surface tension of liquid were expounded for the addition of an appropriate supplement to content uncovered in textbooks so as to reduce beginners' difficulty in the understanding of concepts in this paper.

Synthesis of Porous Silica Supported Dual Brönsted Acid-Functionalized Ionic Liquid Catalyst and Application in Catalyzing Preparation of Biodiesel
In the college students' innovative research projects, biodiesel was prepared with a green ionic liquid catalyst to clean energy as the breakthrough point. 1-methyl-3-(propyl-3-sulfonyl) imidazolium hydrogensulfate was synthesized and immobilized by impregnating method to the surface of porous silica. Biodiesel has been produced by transesterification of sunflower seed oil with[PSMIM]HSO4/SiO2.The effect of amount of catalyst, reaction temperature, molar ratio and reaction time was investigated. The results of experiment showed that the conversion rate was the highest under transesterification on conditions of reaction time 10 h, reaction temperature 160℃, catalyst dosage 8% and molar ratio of methanol to oil 25:1, and the conversion rate was up to 92.5%.[PSMIM]HSO4/SiO2 were characterized by FTIR, XRD and 13C NMR. Components of biodiesel were analyzed by gas chromatograph (GC). The performance of biodiesel had been conformed to the standards of biodiesel in our country, including the freezing point, density and kinematic viscosity. This project not only has made some achievements in research, but also has promoted the students' innovation and team consciousness, as well as teachers' teaching ability.
Fabrication and Chemical Modification of Functional Polymer Surfaces
This article introduces a chemical experiment, the fabrication and chemical modification of functional polymer surfaces, and its teaching idea. The functional polymer surface can be fabricated by phase separation methods. The experiment explored the influence of solvent composition in the precursor on the wettability of the polymer surface. At the same time, click chemical reactions are used to modify the hydrophilic surface. The contact angles of surfaces are measured with static drop method. Using scanning electron microscope (SEM), the surface morphology of the polymer are characterized before and after modification. Results show that with the change of solvent formula, the contact angle varies a lot. This comprehensive experiment integrates chemical basic knowledge, chemical academic frontier and experimental basic skills, which is beneficial to cultivate students' innovative thinking and improve their comprehensive ability.
Application of Flipped Classroom in Experimental Chemistry Teaching Basedon Guided Learning Plan and PBL
This paper attempts to discuss the implementation of the flipped classroom teaching in experimental chemistry courses by means of the integration of the guided learning plan and problem based learning (PBL). To ensure the scientificity and effectiveness of the current flipped classroom practice, a questionnaire survey was conducted. Results showed that the flipped classroom teaching based on the guided learning plan and PBL worked well in developing students' active learning ability, as well as in building an integrated system of three dimensions:knowledge and skills, process and methods and the emotional attitude of experiment. It should be stressed that the teaching reform is effective in improving the teaching quality.
Developing Assessment Literacy of Pre-Service Chemistry Teachers
The purpose of this study is to develop assessment literacy of pre-service chemistry teachers by taking the course of measurement and evaluation of chemistry teaching, where the key feature was an innovative approach based on the real-world situations. The one-group pretest-posttest design was used, and pre-service chemistry teachers in Zhejiang Normal University were enrolled in the study. The results indicated that course training could improve assessment literacy of pre-service teachers, but there were different effects among dimensions. There were significant effects on the dimension of "Fundamental Concepts","Data Interpretation","Quality Characteristics","Ethics of Evaluation" and "Test Grade". The two formers' ultimate levels were higher, and the three latters' were lower. However, there was no significant difference on the dimension of "Test Design", but the level was high.
Constructing Student-Centered Teaching Mode of Chemical Engineering Specialty Based on Constructivism
Based on the theory of constructivism, student-centered teaching mode of chemical engineering specialty was established. Aimed to cultivate outstanding chemical professionals, the theoretical architecture and teaching design were constructed from the aspects of curriculum construction, situational construction, teaching team, teaching evaluation and supporting system, etc. Through teaching practice, it is proved that this kind of teaching mode can stimulate the students' interests in learning and improve the students' learning result.
Inquiry Case Teaching Mode in Teaching of Pharmaceutical Preparation Engineering
The teaching process of inquiry teaching mode of pharmaceutical preparation engineering was practiced and improved through designing and implementing the three stages of teaching flowchart. Meantime, the teaching effect of inquiry teaching mode was evaluated by constructing the quantitative evaluation index, the tripartite evaluation and questionnaire. Finally, the further suggestions were given for the existing problems.
Application of Software Technology in Quantitative Analysis of Near Infrared Spectroscopy
To improve the quality of quantitative analysis of near infrared spectroscopy by chemometrics, the application of related algorithms and software tools were comprehensively studied. According to the general process of quantitative analysis of near infrared spectrum, the common algorithms of spectral data preprocessing, abnormal sample detection, sample set division, wavelength selection, model establishment and parameter optimization were discussed in turn, and the basic steps of various mainstream algorithms were given. Then the functions, features and main applications of OMNIC、OPUS、Origin、The Unscrambler X and MATLAB software tools were introduced to provide reference for related technology research and analysis detection work.
Case Teaching of Sequential Modular Method of Analysis and Synthesis forChemical Engineering Process Integrated with Aspen Simulation
Analysis and synthesis of chemical engineering process is a professional course with very strong practice of chemical engineering, and its main method is the simulation of chemical engineering systems. How to integrate the course with Aspen simulation is the important problem need to be solved in the process of teaching. The integration between sequential modular method of the course and corresponding Aspen simulation will be used as a case teaching, focusing on simulation convergence problems due to the inappropriate selection of tearing streams and unreasonable initial values. This can make the theory teaching of this course more vivid and the learning more easy. Besides, it can also improve students' ability to use Aspen software and solve practical problems, and finally lay a solid foundation for subsequent engineering design.
Theoretical Study About Products of the Birch Reduction
The Birch reduction converts aromatic compounds possessing a benzenoid ring into products derived from 1,4-cyclohexadienes, which has rarely been explicitly concluded in various organic chemistry textbooks. Current mechanisms indicate that the step determining the position of the carbon-carbon double bonds in the product is the protonation of the anion intermediate after capturing two electrons. This article studied the regional selectivity in the protonation step on the base of quantum chemical calculations and reports of other literature. The results demonstrate both qualitatively and quantitatively that the protonation site is mainly the carbon atom with the largest orbital coefficient in the intermediate's HOMO, which means the regional selectivity is resulted from chemical kinetics factors.
Possible Flaw in Experiment Design on Continuous VariationMethod for Determining the Stability Constant of a Complex
Determination of the formula and stability constant of a complex by the continuous variation method is a standard experiment for chemistry students in universities. But when the metal to ligand complexation formation is 1:2 or 1:3, the experiment designs in all the experiment textbooks may have the same flaw, which is too few sampling points, or too few solutions being prepared. If the solutions were prepared according to these textbooks, there would be no solution with the metal to ligand ratio which corresponds to the stoichiometry of the complex. With all the points showing good linearity, there would not be enough data to estimate the curve so as to calculate the stability constant. This paper discussed the reason, consequences and solutions of this flaw in this kind of experiment design.
